Here's what they'll look like in the end.
Super cute right!?!
What You'll Need...
Styrofoam balls
Material(s)
Straight pins with a ball on top or not.
String (if you're going to hang it)
Make It...
Cut a ton of squares out of material. They don't need to be perfect and I think it looks better if they're not.
Take each color and pin them sporadicly over the foam ball, like so...
Take the next color of material and do the same.
Gather the material in the middle and pinch it. Then pin to the ball.If there are some places where you can see the styrofoam, then just either place another color there with a new pin or pull out a pin with the material with it and put a bigger piece of material underneath and re-pin.
This is a good little trick, if you run out of pins or just don't want to use SO many.
For the ones I did on the porch, I just tied a piece of string around it tightly and flapped the material over the string so you couldn't see it wrapped around the ball.

ReplyDeleteWhat a great idea! Love it! I did some pom-poms for my birthday using cupcakes liners, but I really like the look of these. What a great way to use all the scraps lying around. Thank you for sharing!
